Discover my six-month journey with Systeme.io as an affiliate marketer — find out what worked, what didn’t, and the features I wish it had.
I’ve been using Systeme.io as a paid member for 12 months now after I got kicked out by Mailerlite for violating their TOS as an affiliate marketer. After testing over 5 different email marketing suites, finally, I’ve found a “home”.
In this Systeme.io Review, I will share my experience after using it for 12 months as a paid member – from an affiliate marketers perspective.

However, like any platform, it has its shortcomings.
There are some things that — in my opinion — can be enhanced, and a few features I wish it had. Still, the user-friendly interface and a highly rewarding affiliate program make it an appealing choice.
Curious about what specifically worked for me and what didn’t? Let’s explore further.
Quick Summary

Website: Systeme.io

- Limited variety of templates
Pros:

- Strong sales funnel capabilities
- Effective email marketing tools

- User-friendly opt-in forms
- Easy to manage interface
- Generous affiliate program
Who Am I?
For those who don’t know me, I’ve been into affiliate marketing and blogging for the past 10+ years.
Over this time, I’ve tried a bunch of email marketing and sales funnel software. I hit a roadblock with MailerLite when they banned me for promoting a weight loss supplement.

This made me look for alternatives. I needed one with strong sales funnels, good email automation, easy opt-in forms, a simple interface, and low costs.
My journey begun with Brevo, then with MailChimp, moved on with EmailOctopus and Beehiiv..
Nothing fulfilled my exact needs.
That’s when I found Systeme.io.
It met all my needs and didn’t cost much. After six months as a paid member, I can say I have finally found a marketing suite that I can work with for years to come..
🤔 Things I Don’t Like About Systeme.io (or at least I would like them to improve)
Systeme.io offers a lot, but there are a few areas where it could improve.
1. Better Reporting on New Subscribers
I find their reporting on new subscribers hard to use and not detailed enough.
To check your new contacts you can tap on the contact’s tab on the main menu..

I wish I could compare opt-in forms side by side or see how many new subscribers came from all my landing pages at once. Maybe this feature exists, but I find it tough to find.
Clear and easy-to-access reports are key to knowing which strategies work. Better reporting tools would save time and make the platform more useful.
2. Not that many integrations
One big downside of Systeme.io is that it doesn’t connect with many other platforms.
Right now, it only works with Active Campaign. So, if I use a special opt-in plugin on my WordPress site, I can’t link it to Systeme.io.

For example, I use Grow from Mediavine — a cool plugin that inserts in row optin forms on WordPress blogs. That plugin integrates with Mailchimp, Mailerlite and ConvertKit at the moment. When someone subscribes to my newsletter via the Grow plugin, they can’t instantly transferred into my Systeme.io account.
Another example is the Popup Plugin For WordPress by ConvertPlus. It offers some amazing email subscription features. It can’t integrate with Systeme.io. I have to manualy export my contacts and upload them to Systeme.io.
If I like using a different email marketing software and only want Systeme.io for sales funnels, I can’t connect the two either. This problem also affects tools like Facebook leads campaigns, which I can’t link to Systeme.io.

For an all-in-one platform, the integration options are pretty limited. Adding more connections would make it much better and easier to use.
3. Their funnel builder, signup forms feels a bit “clanky”
Systeme.io’s funnel builder and signup forms need some work to become more user-friendly and less “clunky.”
While the platform tries to make running an online business easier, the current design of the funnel builder and signup forms feels a bit awkward.

The drag-and-drop features sometimes lack the smoothness and responsiveness needed for a seamless experience.
This “clunkiness” can be annoying, especially when you’re trying to quickly set up or change your funnels. Fixing these issues would greatly boost the platform’s overall usability.
4. They could offer more templates
Systeme.io has a few dozen templates, but I think they need more. Right now, they don’t have enough variety for different niches and needs.
As an affiliate marketer, I need more ready-made options for opt-in pages, signup forms, newsletters, and sales funnels.
I work in areas like finance, men’s health, weight loss, and crypto, and the current selection doesn’t cover these.
More templates would save time and make the platform more versatile. Adding more templates would make Systeme.io better for specialized marketing campaigns and reduce the need for extra design work.
5. No RSS to Email Feature
This is the one that breaks my heart because I need it so bad. Mailerite, Kit, GetResponse – all the popular email marketing platforms have this feature, except from Systeme. For those of you who don’t know RSS to email is when you send an automated email to your email subscribers, every time you write a blog post. Super useful and time saving feature – especially for bloggers.
😊 The things I Like
After the storm comes the sunshine. Here are the things I like about Systeme.io
1. Sales Funnel
Isn’t it great to build sales funnels without spending a lot on expensive software like Clickfunnels?
With Systeme.io’s drag-and-drop builder, I can make sales funnels, opt-in pages, thank you pages, in-line forms, pop-up forms, webinar pages, upsell, downsell pages with ease.
It mightn’t look as fancy as Clickfunnels, but it works just as well and costs much less.
Although as I said earlier, it feels kinda “clunky” (at least for me), the interface is simple to use, so I can design and launch funnels without knowing a lot about tech stuff. Plus, with real-time analytics, I can track how things are going and make smart choices based on data.
To create a sales funnel with Systeme.io, just click on the Funnels menu and then on the “Create” button.

Then, name your funnel, and choose your goal.

Choose one of the ready-made templates, and start building your funnel.

For comparison, Clickfunnels Startup plan starts at $97/mo while Systeme.io’s Startup plan at $27/mo.
2. Email Marketing
Using email marketing with sales funnels in Systeme.io saves me a lot of money each month. It also makes my work easier by giving me one place to manage everything.
For example, I don’t need Clickfunnels and Mailerlite to manage my online business.
Also, systeme.io’s email marketing features have nothing to jealous from other — more known email marketing platforms . Systeme.io has all the bells and whistles you can ask from an email marketing platform.
Plus, their plans are so generous.
For comparison with Systeme.io’s Freemium plan you can have 2000 subscribers and send unlimited emails. With Starter plan you pay $27+VAT per month, you can have 5000 subscribers and send unlimited emails.
Here’s how it compares with other email marketing platforms if you want to have 5000 subscribers to your email lists.

As you can see by yourself, you can save a ton each month by simply choosing Systeme.io
3. Automations
One of the best features of Systeme.io is its strong automation tools. These tools help make my work easier and save me a lot of time. Basically it’s just like any other autoresponder feature the “big boys” offer — but not all of them offer this feature.
With Systeme.io, I can easily schedule emails to go out at specific times and dates. This way, my audience always gets my messages on time.
The platform also lets me automate follow-up emails and group customers based on what they do. This makes my marketing more focused and effective.
4. Optin forms
Optin forms are one of my favorite features of Systeme.io. They make it super easy to capture leads and grow my email list.
Creating and adding optin forms to my blog is simple. I just copy the HTML code and paste it where I want the form to show up.
Here’s how the signup form (or optin form) shows under each blog post in my Greek blog.

Here’s the signup form on my (Greek) blog’s sidebar.

I can also use a link to these forms to trigger a two-step optin form with a button click, which helps keep users interested.
That means that I don’t actually need another plugin or service to capture emails from my blogs. Systeme.io has this too.
5. Easy to manage
I like the fact that systeme.io is super easy to use — thanks to its simple design and user-friendly interface.
Unlike other tools like Mailchimp, which can be tricky, Systeme.io’s easy navigation and straightforward setup make it fast to use.
Plus, I like its “de-cluttered” feeling and UI.
6. Low Cost
Switching to Systeme.io has saved me a lot of money. I now pay $27+VAT ($32) a month for the Startup plan.
As you saw earlier, If I was to use Mailerlite — which is the cheapest after Systeme for 5000 subscribers, I would have to pay $50. Plus, Clickfunnels at $97 per month = $147/mo.
That’s $120 LESS per month than with Systeme.io
And.. I didn’t include the fees for services like, software needed for membership sites (like Kajabi) or webinar platforms or affiliate marketing software etc.
Again, Systeme is NOT as polished or as featured rich as these platforms, but for someone starting up these services offered by Systeme are more than enough.
7. They are “friendly” with affiliate marketers
One of the best things about Systeme.io is how friendly it’s for affiliate marketers.
Unlike other platforms with strict rules (ehem MailerLite), Systeme.io uses a fair warning system.
For example, when one of my campaigns had “flagged” words, they just paused it instead of banning me. After changing the “flagged” words, my campaign was ready to go.
This is great for affiliate marketers who work in areas with sensitive content.
8. All in one suite
I really like how Systeme.io gives me all the tools I need in one place. It has everything from sales funnels to email marketing and automation tools.
This saves me time and money because I don’t have to switch between different tools.
Although I don’t use ALL Systeme.io’s features (for example, Webinars etc.) I do appreciate that when the time comes were I would have to use them, I will not need to switch platform and go through new learning curves.
9. Tons of training material
Systeme.io really stands out with its huge amount of training materials. It’s super easy to learn and use the platform.
Their help page is full of articles and videos on almost every feature you could need.

If you want to get better at marketing and sales, the student dashboard offers free training.

It guides you through setting up funnels and making your first $10K. Their detailed guides and tutorials slashed my learning curve to half.
10. Customer support
The platform’s customer support is another thing that I truly appreciate in any online service.
They’re available 24/7, and the support team is quick to respond and fixes issues fast.
People on Trustpilot seem to agree with me on how good their customer support is.

11. Generous Affiliate Program
One of the best things about their affiliate program is the 60% recurring commission for life.
Why I like their generous affiliate program?
Why not? I am an affiliate marketer afterall..
Not only I Actually use a product I promote, I get to offer other people a working product that actually helps them and I get to increase my income via affiliate marketing.
Everybody’s winning here..
Other Features I like
Systeme.io has a bunch of extra features that make it great for affiliate marketers. Over the past six months, I’ve found these tools really helpful for my marketing and daily tasks.
Here are some cool features:
- Custom Domains: You can use your own web address to keep your brand looking consistent everywhere.
- Freemium Version: You can use the platform for free for as long as you want. This is great for beginners.
- Email Resending: If someone didn’t open your email the first time, you can send it again. This is a simple but very useful feature. Plus, no other email marketing suite I’ve used had this feature.
- Payment Gateways: You can easily connect with PayPal and Stripe to make transactions smooth.
- Affiliate Program Management: You can create and manage your own affiliate programs right on the platform.
- Marketplace: Systeme has its own marketplace where you can list your product — either physical or digital — just like ClickBank and other merchants.
- 1-click Upsells: A super cool feature to extract more value from your funnels.
- A/B Tests: You can A/B test things to see what works and what doesn’t.
- Coupon Codes: You can create and offer coupon codes in your sales funnels.
- Tag System: I really like how the tag system makes subscriber segmentation easier and faster than old category-based methods.
Instead of making many categories, I just use tags based on where the subscriber comes from or their status.
These features make Systeme.io a must-have tool for any serious affiliate marketer.
Features I would Like To See
Several improvements could make Systeme.io even better for affiliate marketers.
- Sell newsletter subscriptions — It would be awesome to sell newsletter subscriptions right within the platform. Imagine handling everything from collecting leads and payments to sending out paid emails, all in one place, like Substack.
- AI writing assistant — Adding an AI writing assistant and a subject line generator would also be a big help. These tools would make writing emails faster and give new ideas to keep subscribers interested.
While Systeme.io is already great, these changes would make it even greater.
