People love to “consume” nice and informative content. They love even more those who produce the nice and informative content.
In this article I explain the 10 most popular types of content that people love to read on the internet.
By adopting these “content types” you will start to receive more visitors from search engines and keep them on your blog longer. These two, have been shown to influence how Google’s algorithm perceives which result is good and which is not. So, it also helps with your SEO.
Think about it. If you were Google and you show 10 results on your first page for a particular keyword, and most people who search for that keyword click on 3 results and read the article for over 2 minutes. The results that are in the first and second position only take a few seconds. Which result would you consider to be better for your users? The 3rd of course.
Most Popular Content Types on the Internet
1. Lists
Yes, I know you may have read it elsewhere or understood it in some way. It would just be an “insult” not to mention it.
Articles in the form of listicles are the most popular on the internet, because they are easy to read and get straight to the point.
They also, for some reason, “pull” internet users to read them.
Example:
- 9 Tried and tested ideas for passive income from the internet
- 7 Reasons Why You Should Start Your Own Blog
If the above titles were…
“Ideas for Passive Income from the Internet” and “Why You Should Start Your Own Blog”, which titles do you think would get the most clicks?
2. Infographics
These “little gems” of information can present complex information and other data in pictures and cartoon-style making it very easy to “consume”.
☝️ To create infographics and enrich your pages, there are two ways:
The first is to do it yourself. Go to Canva, and there you’ll find thousands of templates that you can edit.
The second is to go to Fiverr and find a freelancer to do it for you. You can usually find one for 5-10 dollars. Just make sure he knows up front that the content you’re sending him is going to be in Greek.
Also, when you’re done with a list-type article, you can easily turn it into an infographic and share it on Pinterest or your social media.
3. How-to / Tutorials
Okay, you don’t have to be a scientist to understand this.
Any how-to content is embraced by the audience because it simply explains and instructs the audience how to solve a problem.
Search engines love this kind of content because it directly answers their users’ question and provides them with a solution to their problem.
Also, it is important to mention that AI technology can NOT write step-by-step guides. It can produce an article with some steps that you can find on the internet, but it cannot provide the detail that a human being who has ACTUALLY done something can provide.
Examples of such articles I have written are:
- How to Build a Faceless YouTube Channel (Step by Step)
- The fastest and easiest way to create a blog with WordPress
4. Product/Service Reviews (Reviews)
Product and service reviews are another category of content that is “consumed” with fury by internet users.
People in general always have an uncertainty when it comes to buying a product or service without reading reviews and/or experiences from other people. This is why they resort to their “buddy” Google to look for reviews from other users.
Writing your honest experiences about a product or service that people want to buy will enhance your credibility with that audience.
Here’s an example… Whoa ! Who is the first in the results for this keyword?
And don’t forget, you can share your reviews on various platforms – your personal website, YouTube videos, or even popular forums like Reddit. That way, you’ll reach even more people who are looking for your opinion!
Keep it up, and whatever you suggest you can be sure that many people will buy it, since you will now be considered an authoritative source of information about products or services.
And you know what? Product reviews are the secret weapon of affiliate marketers – they are probably the number 1 method they use to promote products.
5. Case studies
The real-world examples of companies or individuals, about their various operations in the field they are involved in, are “living” examples of whether something works or not, where mistakes were made or what steps were taken correctly.
People can learn a lot from reading various case studies from their field, as it helps them avoid mistakes or take advantage of smart and creative actions that others have done before them.
In even simpler terms, it’s like observing someone’s path and learning from their experiences.
6. Comparative Articles ” VS ”
‘VS’ content is when you compare two products or services that do the same job or two websites from the same sector.
Generally people like comparisons since – again – you show them which of the two products or services or websites is better.
In this way, you help him to make a better choice.
Some examples:
- If you are a nutritionist you can compare the nutritional values of tuna with sardines.
- If you are a gymnast you can compare two types of exercises that involve the same point.
- If you are a gamer you can compare two titles of the same series. E.g.: Fallout 3 Vs Fallout New Vegas.
7. Interviews (Interviews)
Who doesn’t like to read or listen to a good interview of an important person in their field.
Take Oprah Winfrey, for example. She never talks about herself. She always talks about other people and for that reason, everyone loves her.
8. Videos & Short Form Videos
There’s not much to say about this type of content. It’s obvious in itself.
Studies show that people are watching more video online than ever before. If you haven’t put video into your marketing strategy, then you’re clearly doing something wrong..
Nice and interesting videos – even if they are not your own – will enhance the image of your website and will keep your visitors more interested in your website and more satisfied with the quality of the updates you upload.
Also, with so many AI programs like Pictory.ai that allow you to create videos from… anything, it’s easier than ever to get started.
9. ” What is… ” articles
How many times have you Googled the phrase “What is ……..” or “What is ………”?
I personally at least twice a day…
Just think, you can solve the questions of thousands of people from a specific category through your website or column.
Won’t your readers fall in love with you? Won’t you position yourself as an expert in your field? Won’t you earn their trust?
The answer is Yes..
10. Podcasts
Come on, don’t tell me you’ve never listened to a podcast! It’s the new favorite type of content for busy people who want to learn or be entertained while doing other things.
Imagine driving while learning about how to improve your business or running and listening to your favourite show.
Personally, I listen to Podcasts in the car and when I’m cooking.
Podcasts are like radio on demand – you listen to what you want, when you want. And if you have something interesting to say, you can make your own podcast. It’s a fantastic way to build your brand and connect with your audience on a more personal level.
☝️ Podcasts can also be derived from articles you’ve already written. You don’t have to start from scratch. Copy your article and put it into an AI program. Ask it to turn it into a podcast script.
Something like: “Adapt this article for listening, keeping the basic meaning and style.”
Then, take the new text and run it through a text-to-voice program. It will convert it into audio with a human voice. Upload it to Spotify or other podcast platforms and you’re done.
It’s a way to extend your content to different media. It’s not always perfect, but it can save you time and give you a base to start with podcasts.
Conclusion
